Keren G. Birnbaum
Keren G. Birnbaum, Esq. is a Founding Partner of Birnbaum Lewis, PLLC where she concentrates her practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, Elder Law, and Special Needs Planning. She has over 10 years of experience advising clients on how to protect themselves, their loved ones and their businesses in the event of death, incapacity or disability.
For many clients, estate and long-term care planning can be an intimidating process. Ms. Birnbaum walks them through the steps, listening to their concerns and educating them about their options. Her practice covers a wide range of matters, including: Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning, Advance Medical Directives, Durable Powers of Attorney, Trust and Estate Administration, Probate, Asset Protection, Medicaid and Long-Term Care Planning, Charitable Giving, and Special Needs Planning.
Ms. Birnbaum’s clients often include couples with young children who are concerned about naming a guardian for their children, but soon realize they also need estate planning. She also works with many older adults who are looking to revise their wills, want to leave a legacy for their family, or are concerned about paying for long-term care. Her goal with every family is to provide personalized attentive service to put them at ease and help them achieve their goals.
Ms. Birnbaum earned her law degree at Hofstra University School of Law and her Bachelor’s Degree at Brandeis University. She is admitted to the New York State Bar, is a member of the New York State Bar Association, is an active member of the Elder Law and Trusts and Estates Sections of the New York State Bar Association, on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Student of the Year leadership team, and is a Transitional Services for New York, Inc. Corporate Alliance Reception and Event Sponsor. Ms. Birnbaum has also lectured and published articles on various elder law and estate planning issues.
Jaime D. Lewis
Jaime D. Lewis, Esq. is a Founding Partner of Birnbaum Lewis, PLLC where she concentrates her practice in the areas of Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, Elder Law, and Special Needs Planning. Working with families across Long Island and New York City, Jaime is as a trusted advisor for her clients, providing peace of mind in an uncertain world.
Jaime works with individuals, couples, and families to protect their assets and ensure that those assets pass to who they want, when they want, and in the way they want. She helps her clients do just that by focusing on such areas as asset protection, planning for incapacity, effectively structured protection for minor children and legacy planning. Her goal with every family is to provide personalized attentive service to put them at ease and help them achieve their goals.
Jaime began her legal career practicing corporate tax law at a Wall St. firm and securities law at an international firm in London. She received her legal degree from the University of Maryland School of Law and advanced legal degree (LLM) in Taxation and Estate Planning from NYU School of Law, as well as a Masters’ Degree in Policy Sciences from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. Jaime is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys; the New York State Bar Association, Trusts & Estates Law Section; the Nassau County Bar Association, Surrogates Court Estates & Trusts Committee; and the Nassau County Estate Planning Council.
